so i was at the mall earlier today. i had a pack of cigarettes and some cold coffee and i was wasting time listening to florence and the machine. next to me is a girl, late teens, 20ish. she was smiling at me for no apparent reason.

then she said: “you like DOG DAYS ARE OVER too? i like that lovesong”

then the ass that is me replied: “it’s actually not a lovesong. not all songs’ about love you know.”

her smile then turned to a frown: “okay.”

then it dawned to me… she was actually trying to start a conversation.

this is exactly why i am single.

when it comes to politics, i choose to keep mum because it’s the least of my interests. BUT..

earlier today, while i was on a ride home, i can’t help but notice an suv with a sticker at the back saying “no to ignorance, no to rh bill”.

WHAT THE FUCK!

if the rh bill is their version of something ignorant, then I COULD NOT FATHOM HOW IGNORANT THESE PEOPLE ARE!

statistics from other countries with reproductive health bills show that there’s a great decrease in the number of teenage pregnancies in the last decade. along with that, there’s also a great decrease in number of people affected by sexually transmitted diseases. with no increase in sexual activity among teenagers or kids below 18.

and these statistics are slapped smack in their faces. there’s also google which is more than arms wide open to give them access to these statistics.

and yet they choose to brush it off. deflect the more than necessary information presented right in their faces.

oppose, that’s fine. somebody has to play the devil’s advocate (ironically the “church” leads the opposition), but implying that whoever agrees with the bill as ignorant people, that a foot out of line right there.

i am a strong believer of the RH bill because with simple common sense, i know that it is one great move our country needs to make; when simple logic one could conclude that we need this bill to lessen the overpopulation of this fucked-up country.

to those who think otherwise, oppose, that’s fine. no problem there. but don’t ever have the audacity to call people who have enough common sense a label which is supposedly yours.
